  • Still here...

Hey. y'all! I just wanted to let y'all know I'm not leaving xanga. Just going through an inspirational drought, of sorts. I have about enough gumption to read all my subs and think of semi-witty replies. Then I run out of mental steam.

On another topic altogether, several people have asked about my weight loss, so I figgered I'd just post it here and save my poor memory having to recall who wanted to know. I'm down a whopping 35 pounds now! It's not ALL good. My clothes are falling off me, so I have to go buy some. I don't really like clothes shopping. My favourite chair isn't quite so comfortable any more. And I keep having to readjust the seat in the truck, coz that isn't working so well for me any more, either. Same with my adjustable bed. How do you know whether you need it firmer or softer? I fall asleep perfectly comfortable but wake up in knots. And now I'm really going to have to bite the bullet and start exercising before all that formerly taut skin hits the floor.

I found a great book at the library the other day. It's called Active Living Every Day 20 Weeks to Lifelong Vitality by Steven N. Blair, Andrea L. Dunn, Bess H.Marcus, Ruth Ann Carpenter, and Peter Jaret. What I like most about it is that it's real. It speaks to people of all ages and all levels of fitness - or lack thereof. It makes me believe that I can start right where I am and achieve my goal.

Oh, goodness. I got side-tracked again, didn't I? How am I losing al this weight? I had long suspected my thyroid was responsible for a lot of the excess. The more I gained, the less energy I had to do anything about it. Finally, I mustered up some spunk and decided I had to do SOMETHING or my health was going to be completely down the pan. So I bought a book from Amazon. I read reviews of dozens before I chose Feeling Fat, Fuzzy or Frazzled? by Doctors Richard and Karilee Shames. Even following only half their advice, I started losing weight almost immediately. And now I'm ready to put some of their other suggestions into use. I want my life back and I AM going to get it!

    Y'all have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  • Please don't leave xanga. WE need you to help balance our moral equalibrium.:sunny::sunny: Hope your monday was great. Ours was way too busy. We're listing our house on Wednesday and we have WAY too much stuff for the realtors taste. I swear that I am going to feel like I am living in a Better Homes and Garden special edition of what the hicks in the sticks decorate with. Take it down to the bare necessaties they said and then take down everything personal. Well that leaves us with no wall decorations and very little furniture. I am a bit of a table freak. This is going to be a real treat. I can't wait:rolleyes::whocares::jealous::eek:
