Not y'all, of course. 8-}
OK, so we're just about ready - after several delays because the guy kept calling the wrong bank to get the info he needed - to sign the papers for the refi. Oh, hang on, says the agent who's been putting the whole deal together. We can't finance your home. It's a mobile. No duh, dude! We told you that the first time we spoke to you. The guy has been saying all along it'll go through with no problems. Now the whole thing is dead in the water because we live in a modular on a 'large' acreage. Translation: the land is worth more than the home. This has really thrown a monkey wrench in the works. I had plans for that 'extra' money. Like eating reg'lar. ![]()
I have been young, and now am old;
yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,
nor his seed begging bread.
- Psalm 37:25
I've been reminding myownself of the times God 'came through' at the last minute. When DS was about 4, we were looking forward to a very meager Christmas. On Christmas Eve, the mail came late. In it was an envelope from the power company. It didn't look like a 'pay or else' notice, so I reckoned Duller hadn't forgotten to pay the bill, after all. There was a letter inside informing us that, because of our great payment record, we were getting back our deposit. Sure enough, there was a check inside. Now the really interesting part is, we didn't HAVE a great payment record. We got 'reminders' nearly every month and paid at the very last possible minute. When Duller got home, we had just enough time to run out and buy a few presents. Ain't God GOOD?!
I have to admit, I start to get a little discouraged sometimes, especially when I start thinking about how much things right now are like they were 20 years ago. But overall, I (mostly) manage to put worry aside and rest in the knowledge that God is an on-time God. The thing that really irks me is that these people aren't held accountable in any way. He just says OOPS, and that's the end of it for him.
The other biggie is that Duller remains clueless. He's always been pound foolish and no matter how many times it lands us in a stew, he keeps making the same mistakes. (What's that definition of insanity?) Anyhow, he's a bit miffed with me right now, cozz I put my foot down the other day and refused his request to do something stupid yet again. Yes, it's going to make things really, really tight for a while, but one of us has to look at the big picture. I've already given in too many times and it has lowered my credit score. (Don't even get me started on that!)
Well, if you're still reading, you're a real pal.
And I'd be ever so grateful for your prayers that we squeak through this financial down time and that Duller gets a clue. ![]()
And to end this on a cheerier note.... LAAAAAAAA... I had to tighten the drawstring on my shorts today. ![]()
Y'all have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^
