  • Out with the old...

Can y'all stand the shock?  I'm not, as a rule, real good at change, but this page has been the same for soooooooo long. I reckon it's way overdue. Anyhow, I've just been playing around with it tonight. I'm not sure I'm completely happy with the colours just yet. Any scathingly brilliant ideas?

    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  • Thanks ever so, y'all!

I just wanted to thank y'all for checking out CBD through my links. I'm not sure what the cut-off date is - I think the end of this month - but I for sure won't be an affiliate after that. I really enjoyed it, but I reckon it's time to move on to some other phase. Fortunately, this is pay week, so I can place one last order myownself.

    Y'all have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

Blessings to You in This Season of Glory

  • swapping on craigslist

If y'all haven't checked out Craigslist, you should. Thanks ever so, Gertie, for reminding me! I sold my pool table pretty fast and got a response on another item about 10 minutes after I listed it. As soon as I can clear a path to the closet in the back room, I'm listing that wedding dress I never wore. And the queen-sz bed, the sleep sounds doohickey, the tabletop fountain that never made it out of the box...

It occurred to me that somebody outside our area might be interested in some of the items I listed. Duller won a $25 Dillard's gift certificate at the office party the other day. And I dug up another $25 GC I got a few years ago from Lane Bryant. It says it can only be used for catalogue orders. I was thinking maybe we could swap these for GC's from K-Mart or Target or Red Lobster or Publix or...???

Well, I reckon the dog'll go nuts if I try bulldozing my way through back there now, so I'll just go watch 24 till I fall asleep.

    Happy Christmas Eve Eve, y'all!

  • I may be OC, but I'm not sick

The guys have both been sick all week. They've scoffed and sneered at me the whole time for being obsessive about washing my hands and wet-wiping anything they've touched before I handle it. And I've gone through quite a few wet wipes in the truck. OK, so I'm ridiculous. And my fingers have looked like prunes half the time. But I'm the only one who didn't get sick. I started to relax a bit today, then Duller said the DR told him this bug sometimes goes on for 2-3 weeks. Must remember to get Lysol tomorrow and spray the entire house.

    Y'all have a happy, healthy, JESUS-filled pre-Christmas weekend!

  • EDIT: We think it's a Mars lander.  It isn't attached to the platform - they're maybe 20-30' (?) apart (I'm pretty bad at eyeballing measures) - and may have nothing at all to do with it, for all we know. Sass, it's a city park. Maybe they're drilling for oil? The skinny rod in the center - looks brown in the pic, if you can see it - spins. I Googled the park, but only came up with some Bio-something site that can only be accessed by members. S&S, the Gators do have lots of 'stuff' up here, so that wouldn't surprise me much. Gail, no beavers. LOL! I only WISH there were beavers. So far, the only one I've seen was road-killed.  Reckon I might just have to call the city and ask. Yeah, there's a novel approach, huh? LOL!

    *   *   *   *   *   *   *

There have been a few changes at one of my favourite ponds. First, a floating platform was added.

The turtles love to sunbathe on this thing. We assumed, at the time, that that was pretty much its purpose. Then, a few weeks later, this contraption showed up.

Any idea what it is? Does it have anything to do with the platform?

  • Happy Birthday, Moose!

Today is DS's birthday. And he's sick, bless his heart. Well, he's on the mend after a rough weekend, but still not up to snuff. We were s'posed to take him to Red Lobster Saturday. Duller's sick, too, so the celebration will have to take place... well, hmmm... next year? At least he feels well enough to trek up to BAM to pick out his own gifts.

Hope y'all are all having a JESUS-filled CHRISTmas season!

  • ebay advice?

Anybody sell on ebay? I need to unload some stuff, but I've heard so many horror stories from sellers, I'm not sure I want to go that route. I'll probably try craigslist first. Any words of wisdom if I end up in the bay?

I really should've done this a month ago when people were shopping for holiday clothes. I have a large closet stuffed to overflowing with mostly formal dresses, most of which are NOS, some worn once in a fashion show or some such deal. That's me.. Queen of the Procrasti Nation.

    Have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^

  • I wasn't going to post anything today, but this article really ticked me off!

The very first sentence is just one prime example of what's wrong with the culture being created in America today.

When hordes of police and immigration officials stormed meatpacking
plants in six states this week, the illegal workers arrested may not have
    been the only victims.

WHOA! Back... the truck... up... Chuck! ILLEGAL immigrants, who had gotten their jobs using STOLEN IDENTITIES, were VICTIMS???!!! Victims of what?! Being arrested for breaking the law?!

On one tv news report, we saw a gathering of these victims' family members carrying protest signs. One woman interviewed said they had only used those STOLEN IDENTITY CARDS to get those jobs so they could support their families. Oh, well, it's OK then. Let the poor criminals go and continue breaking the law. Forget about the people whose identities they're using. The fact that their Social Security, income tax, credit records are affected means nothing.

And what kind of messages does this send to American citizens? Do we have one set of rules for law-abiding citizens and another for foreign criminals? Or will it be OK if we break the law as long as we only do it a little bit and for 'the right reasons'?

What message does this send to all those other foreign criminals who sneak into our country to rob and kill our innocent citizens? Come on in, thieves and murderers! We've rolled out the red carpet.

OK, I'm going to have to stop now, coz I'm getting really hot and I don't have time for anther shower right now. I'm going to go grab my Bible and cool off, then hit the grocery store.

Oh, and in case you didn't have time/inclination to read the rest of the article... we should all be outraged because our meat prices are now going to go up, thanks to those yahoos and their misguided attempts to actually enforce the law. disapnt

    Y'all have a JESUS-filled day! ^i^
